Proteg Persona

Product Overview

Proteg Persona is a robust, all-in-one ID Verification Software solution engineered to simplify, streamline, and secure the identity verification process. Designed to run seamlessly on Windows, Linux, and macOS computers, as well as Android tablets, Proteg™ Persona offers unmatched flexibility for organizations operating in diverse environments. It supports comprehensive identity verification capabilities, including MyKad and passport reading, fingerprint matching, and facial recognition with liveness detection, ensuring fast and accurate results with minimal manual intervention.

Ideal for sectors such as banking, government, telecommunications, healthcare, and security, Proteg Persona enhances operational efficiency while reinforcing regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, and trust in every interaction.

As an authorised MyKad command set holder certified by Malaysia’s National Registration Department (JPN), we are uniquely positioned to offer not only the application layer but also a dedicated SDK. This allows customers and system integrators to directly access and retrieve data from the MyKad chip, including fingerprint verification, enabling full integration into their custom systems and workflows.

Whether you're onboarding customers, conducting identity checks at secure checkpoints, or managing access control across physical or digital environments, Proteg Persona delivers a reliable, secure, and unified platform to meet all your identity verification needs.

Software Development Kit

Proteg Persona SDK (Software Development Kit), provides a set of tools, libraries, and APIs that enable developers to integrate JPN issued identity cards (i.e MyKad, MyKid, MyTentera, MyPR) reading capabilities into their applications across different platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Android. These SDKs interface with card readers (hardware devices) to extract information stored in the chip embedded in the card, such as the holder's name, NRIC number, address, photo, gender, religion, and sometimes biometric data.

A cross-platform Proteg Persona SDK typically abstracts the low-level communication protocols required to interact with smart card readers using the ISO/IEC 7816 standard. On Windows, the SDK would usually rely on smart card subsystem components like PC/SC, while on Linux, it may use libraries like pcsc-lite and integrate with common desktop environments. On Android, the SDK might interface with USB OTG-based card readers or use NFC (if the MyKad supports contactless features) to extract the data directly, offering flexibility for mobile solutions.

These SDKs often include demo applications, developer documentation, and sample code in languages like C++, Java, or C# to accelerate integration. Security is also a major aspect, with many SDKs offering encryption and digital signature validation features to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations such as Malaysia’s PDPA. By supporting multiple operating systems, a well-designed Proteg Persona SDK enables organizations to build applications for registration kiosks, mobile ID verification, and secure access systems across diverse hardware environments.
